Credentials
More than 14 years of experience, Dr. Tyre has a unique background. After working in private practice for a year, Dr. Tyre joined the US Navy as a dental officer in 1990. While in the navy, he was one of the few dentists to achieve certification in Advanced Trauma and Life Support (ATLS) as well as Advanced Cardiac and Life Support (ACLS). Fewer than 15% of the military's dentists pass both. He served in Operation Desert Storm and Operation Restore Hope during combat situations and received numerous honors while in his Naval Service.

After his military career, Dr. Tyre returned home to the Louisville Area. He originally took over for Dr. James Douglas in 1993. In 1999, he took over Dr. Cliff Hauenstein's practice. These experiences have given Dr. Tyre a vast amount of experience in making people comfortable switching a health care provider. Dr. Tyre is the President of the Louisville Forum, and society speaker for various organizations and is available to speak on almost any dental topic and several relating to customer service and business. Dr. Tyre is a Facilitator for Planning Marketing (an international group dedicated to improving customer service).

Dr. Tyre is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesiology in Dentistry, American Society for the Advancement of Anesthesia in Dentistry (ASAAD), the Crown Council and the Louisville Dental Forum. He also participates with the Louisville Implant Society and is President of the Louisville Dental Forum. While KY law mandates that each dentist take 15 hours of continuing education. But in order to offer cutting edge techniques at his office, Dr. Tyre has averaged more than 100 hours per since his graduation . He finished 204 hours in 2000 outside of courses he instructed. Dr. Tyre is also a member of the Shively Lions Club.

His personal interests include weight training, whitewater rafting, exotic fish, golf, and his baby girl Sheba, his German Shepherd.
